In the past decade we’ve come to expect instant gratification from our technology. The CEREC one visit crowns at Nashua Dental Group are dentistry’s answer to that demand. In an age where people can order something online and have it delivered within a day or ask a question and have an answer in minutes, dentistry needed to step up with a quick, reliable solution as well. Recognizing the demand from our busy dental patients in Nashua and surrounding towns, Nashua Dental Group decided to introduce CEREC technology into the practice.
CEREC uses 3D CAD-CAM computer technology which enables a dentist to use a digital version of the impression of the mouth to design, mill, refine, and place a crown in one dental visit instead of across multiple visits. This technology has been popular with patients, as you can see from this Google review:
To be clear, these are not temporary crowns. The material the crown is milled from is extremely strong and should last for years. You can watch a demonstration of the milling here:
As you can see the milling takes very little time but the end result is not something you would want in your mouth. Once the crown is milled there are a few steps including placing the crown in a mini furnace for step called sintering as well as glazing the crown. All of these additional steps are required in order to get the crown to meet our high cosmetic dentistry standards of esthetics and functionality.
If you live in the Nashua area and are looking to limit the number of dental visits for getting a crown, don’t hesitate to contact our dental practice for more information about crowns in one visit.
